Meghalaya CM says action on illegal collection needs concrete proof
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said on Tuesday that illegal collection of money from trucks will not be tolerated, but action must be based on concrete evidence rather than mere allegations. Responding to allegations flagged by the Khasi Students' Union (KSU), he said the government is clear such activities must not take place. Sangma said action has been taken whenever information reached the government and would be taken in future if needed, adding that all facts and evidence must be examined through due process.
