Gold worth Rs 2 crore stolen from Medipally jewellery shop
Jewellery worth Rs 2 crore, weighing 1.4 kg, was stolen in about five minutes from a CaratLane franchise outlet at Buddhanagar in Medipally on the outskirts of Hyderabad early Monday. Police, citing CCTV footage, said seven men screened the shutter with a white cloth, cut alarm wires, broke six showcases and fled in an autorickshaw with 580 ornaments. A Rajasthan gang is suspected; the auto driver is being questioned.
