Andhra Pradesh orders four new police commissionerates
The Andhra Pradesh government has issued orders for the formation of four new police commissionerates covering Guntur, Rajamahendravaram, Kurnool and Tirupati. According to the Home department orders issued on Monday, the commissionerates will be headed by senior officers of Deputy Inspector General or Inspector General rank. The orders define the jurisdiction, police stations and geographical areas of each commissionerate. The Home department has also worked out the required manpower and sanctioned posts. Appointment of Commissioners and deployment of personnel are expected to follow.
